Il film fu prodotto dalla Essanay Film Manufacturing Company. Venne girato a Niles. Gilbert M. 'Broncho Billy' Anderson, fondatore della casa di produzione Essanay (che aveva la sua sede a Chicago), aveva individuato nella cittadina californiana di Niles il luogo ideale per trasferirvi una sede distaccata della casa madre. Niles diventò, così, il set dei numerosi western prodotti da Anderson.

Distribuito dalla General Film Company, il film - un cortometraggio in una bobina - uscì nelle sale cinematografiche USA il 9 gennaio 1915. Ne venne fatta una riedizione distribuita il 1º settembre 1918.

Trama
Broncho Billy, a prospector, makes a rich strike, but while he is examining the rock he is being watched by three claim jumpers. The minute he leaves the spot the jumpers gather up some samples of the ore, and after replacing Broncho's sign with one of their own, start for the claim agent's office.
