Il film fu prodotto dalla Essanay Film Manufacturing Company. Venne girato negli studios di Niles e al Niles Canyon. Gilbert M. 'Broncho Billy' Anderson, fondatore della casa di produzione Essanay (che aveva la sua sede a Chicago), aveva individuato nella cittadina californiana di Niles il luogo ideale per trasferirvi una sede distaccata della casa madre. Niles diventò, così, il set dei numerosi western prodotti da Anderson.

Trama
Broncho Billy, haying disturbed the laws of the state, is thrown into jail. The warden hands the outlaw a cup of water and a piece of stale bread. The latter grabs the warden's hand, pulls it through the bars and threatens the former with a broken arm unless he unlocks the door. Broncho Billy, having gained his freedom, takes to the woods.
