Teen movie agrémenté de rock. Au temps du premier bal de l'école, deux jeunes filles s'arrachent le même garçon sur fond de rock'n roll. États Unis, milieu des années 50. Dori, adolescente en quête de loisirs a bien du souci. Elle veut pouvoir porter la robe adéquate pour aller danser, alors qu'elle n'a pas l'argent, que son père s'oppose à ses projets, et que surtout la date des festivités au collège approche à grands pas. Un film musical avec des "célébrités" du rock de l'époque : Chuck Berry, Frankie Lymon et les Teenagers, Johnny Burnette Trio, Jimmy Cavello House Rockers, The Moonglows, The Flamingos, Alan Freed Rock Band, Cirino and the Bowties et The three Chuckles...
