Il dottor Robert Morgan (Vincent Price) sembra essere il solo uomo sopravvissuto a una terribile epidemia che ha prima ucciso tutti gli uomini e poi li ha riportati in vita come zombie. Morgan, immune alla malattia, svolge di giorno con meticolosità la missione di eliminare gli zombie e di notte si rifugia in casa per evitare che siano loro – che si muovono di notte come vampiri – a ucciderlo. Un giorno, però, scopre di non essere il solo “normale” sopravvissuto.
