Il film fu prodotto dalla Essanay Film Manufacturing Company. Venne girato a Niles. Gilbert M. 'Broncho Billy' Anderson, fondatore della casa di produzione Essanay (che aveva la sua sede a Chicago), aveva individuato nella cittadina californiana di Niles il luogo ideale per trasferirvi una sede distaccata della casa madre. Niles diventò, così, il set dei numerosi western prodotti da Anderson.

Distribuito dalla General Film Company, il film - un cortometraggio in una bobina - uscì nelle sale cinematografiche USA il 17 aprile 1914. Ne venne fatta una riedizione che fu distribuita il 12 luglio 1918.

Trama
Broncho Billy, the town good-for-nothing, makes his headquarters at the saloon, where he makes a few cents each day by sweeping out the place. One morning the hotel proprietor, the general store keeper and the chairman of the town board, upon going to their places of business, find that they have been robbed.
