Il film fu prodotto dalla Essanay Film Manufacturing Company. Venne girato a Niles. Gilbert M. 'Broncho Billy' Anderson, fondatore della casa di produzione Essanay (che aveva la sua sede a Chicago), aveva individuato nella cittadina californiana di Niles il luogo ideale per trasferirvi una sede distaccata della casa madre. Niles diventò, così, il set dei numerosi western prodotti da Anderson.

Trama
A detective from the east is sent west to locate a notorious bandit and train robber. In the costume of a western cowpuncher he reaches a small town. He is injured by falling over a precipice. Broncho Billy finds him, carries him to his cabin and nurses him back to health. It is then that Broncho discovers that the detective is looking for him
