== Trama ==
A Roma, il barone Scarpia, capo della polizia è ossessionato dalla passione che prova per Floria Tosca, una bellissima cantante che però ama il pittore Maurice Saranof. Spinto dalla gelosia, Scarpia imprigiona Saranof, sospettando che abbia favorito un amico, sospettato di essere una spia austriaca. Floria, sentendo le urla dell'amato che viene torturato dagli sgherri di Scarpia per estorcergli le informazioni su dove si nasconda il fuggitivo, cede e rivela lei il nascondiglio. In cambio, avrà salva la vita dell'amante che subirà una falsa fucilazione. Ma quando Scarpia viene per riscuotere il suo premio, la donna lo pugnala. Convinta di aver salvato Saranof, Floria di rivela che ormai lui è salvo. Ma i fucili dell'esecuzione, che dovevano essere caricati a salve, sparano per davvero, uccidendo il pittore. Floria, disperata, si uccide gettandosi giù dalle mura del carcere.

Trama
Roman Regent of Police Baron Scarpia, loves Floria Tosca, a beautiful opera singer, but she is engaged to artist Maurice Saranof. Inspired by jealousy, Scarpia orders his soldiers to torture Saranof for information leading to the location of a friend suspected of being an Austrian spy. Forced to listen to Saranof's cries of pain, Tosca relents and reveals the whereabouts of the friend. Spurned by Saranof for her weakness, she must then negotiate with Scarpia for his life and offers herself to the baron in exchange for a phony execution. While embracing, Tosca stabs and kills Scarpia, who supposedly has arranged for blank bullets to be put in the soldiers' guns. In spite of the baron's promise, Saranof is executed, and Tosca, destroyed, climbs the prison wall. Shot while climbing, she falls to her death.
